The National Advisory Committee of Institutional Quality and Integrity on Thursday denied re-authorizing Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. The agency accredits McCann School of Business and Technology, with campuses in Shreveport and Monroe, and Virginia College in Bossier City. The accreditation gives students at those schools access to federal student aid, including Pell Grants and student loans.

A SCHOOL TO SIMON'S LIKING
Correction Appended The University of Rochester, in a show of entrepreneurial spirit, has lined up a new name, a new benefactor and a new game plan.
